Nokia Ovi Store Hits 1.6 Million Downloads a Day!

Nokia Ovi Store has really hit its stride of late and with the recent Ovi Store refresh making it even easier to use, the site seems to have gotten the boost it needed as Nokia Ovi Store now has over 1.6 million daily downloads. We’ve been having a quick chat with Nokia and they revealed that along with Ovi Store now pulling in record numbers of users, the sites most popular devices – currently the Nokia 5800, Nokia N97, NokiaN97 Mini, Nokia 5530 and the new powerhouse that is the Nokia X6 – have well over 9500 content items available to them. Of the non-touch Nokia smartphones, it seems the Nokia E66, Nokia E71 and Nokia E72 lead the way in downloads for E Series devices.

With 1.6 million daily downloads, Ovi Store is seeing a steady increase in return visitors, with the average user downloading 8.5 apps a month, with the most popular being Polarbit, Nimbuzz, Shazam, which have all seen over one million downloads each.

Among the biggest downloading countries are China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UK and Vietnam with 90 per cent of this content being in localised language.
